This is a General Guide to making an Injury Claim but is not intended to cover everything that you need to consider

When can I make a claim ?

When you can show Fault - To pursue a claim, you must show someone else was at fault for your injury. Even if they were partly to blame you may be able to claim.

Are there Time Limits ?

Generally, Claims for injury must be issued in a Court within 3 years but there are some cases where the time limit is earlier so seek advice as soon as you can. Most Claims settle without Court action.

How much is my Claim worth ?

Compensation can be given for the injury itself and for losses which you suffer because of your injury, for example loss of earnings. Specialist advice will be needed on how much your claim is worth, depending on the type of injury and how it has affected you.

How does it work ?

Most claims are made against Insurance Companies. We will deal with getting the evidence needed to prove your claim, getting the medical report, calculating your losses, advising you on the merits of your claim, and telling you how much it’s worth. We will negotiate with the Insurance Company and if they won’t deal properly with the claim we will take Court Action on your behalf and fight for your award.

How do we get paid ?

The Insurers will agree to pay our costs and the expenses of bringing the claim separately from your compensation so you do not have to pay.

How long will it take ?

If you recover quickly from your injury, we will get you your compensation quickly. If it takes longer for you to recover we may have to wait until we know your likely recovery period before we can settle your claim but we may be able to get you an interim payment earlier if there is no dispute about the fact that the other party is to blame.
