Mayo Wynne Baxter Appointed to the SRA Intervention Panel
South east firm Mayo Wynne Baxter has once again been named as one of only 24 firms nationwide to be part of the Solicitors Regulation Authority’s new panel of intervention agents that will intervene into and close down solicitors' practices where an Intervention Resolution has been passed by the Solicitors Regulation Authority for disciplinary or other reasons. The aim of this process is to supervise the closure of the practice and take possession of all client monies and files to protect clients’ interests.
Mayo Wynne Baxter is the only firm in Sussex or Kent to be appointed to the Panel.
The three year appointment was awarded following a tendering process that 166 firms took part in. Although Mayo Wynne Baxter has been on the Intervention Panel since 2006, the firm was still required to undergo the rigorous tender process which was designed to identify firms that had both an excellent reputation and also the technical skills to undertake a forensic process of reviewing another firm’s records.
The Mayo Wynne Baxter Intervention team will be led by Partner Peter Bristow and assisted by the firm’s dedicated Intervention team.
Speaking about Mayo Wynne Baxter’s success, Managing Partner Chris Randall said “We are delighted to be recognised by the Solicitors Regulation Authority for our skills and reputation. Mayo Wynne Baxter’s success in this rigorous tender process is another part of the firm’s growth and development.”
