Mayo Wynne Baxter strengthens management team

South east law firm Mayo Wynne Baxter has appointed Finance Director Peter Connell to strengthen its financial and commercial expertise.

Peter joins Mayo Wynne Baxter from Hastings Direct where he worked for 12 years. He began his working life with Peat Marwick Mitchell and qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1985. In 1986 he moved into the insurance sector with Dominion Insurance Company progressing from Internal Audit Manager to Chief Accountant. Peter then spent 2 years at Bain Hogg before joining the start-up management team at Hastings Direct in 1996. Peter became finance director of Hastings Direct in 2000 and was Managing Director for his final 2 years there. Peter has held a variety of financial executive and non-executive directorships.
