French Connection Eastbourne-New Business Group Promotes Anglo French Opportunities
A networking group has been set up to promote business opportunities among local companies with a French connection. The inaugural meeting of the Anglo French Business Group on Tuesday 14 July held at Exquis Bistrot on Seaside Road, Eastbourne was attended by 20 businessmen and women looking to strengthen their network of contacts.
Ed Coxall, a French property lawyer and partner with Mayo Wynne Baxter set up the group with Caroline Cole, partner with the accountancy firm Honey Barrett. He said:
“There is a growing number of businesses run by French nationals in this region. Equally there are English-run businesses who would like the opportunity to break into the French market but don’t yet have the connections. It’s very difficult to go “cold” into a new market especially if you are unfamiliar with the legal and fiscal systems.
“East Sussex and France are near neighbours and it makes sense for nationals from both countries to seek opportunities abroad. We set up the group so that people can share expertise, experience and contacts and hope that everyone will benefit from collaborating and working together.”
The next meeting of the Anglo French Business Group is scheduled for September, the date and venue will be confirmed nearer the time. The group welcomes new members, please contact Caroline Cole on 01323 412277or Ed Coxall on 01323 730543 for further information.
